István Betuker (b. 1984, Satu-Mare) is a visual artist living and working in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He holds a PhD in Painting from the University of Art and Design (UAD) Cluj-Napoca, where he completed his studies in 2013 and has been teaching since 2023. His practice has been presented in solo exhibitions including Shifting Tides (2023), Flow-State (Sector 1 Gallery, 2020), Emotional Blackmail (Institute of Contemporary Art, Dunaujvaros (HU) 2015) and multiple showcases at Galerie Popy Arvani in Paris. Over the years, his work has also been included in group exhibitions at institutions such as the Kunsthalle Budapest, the Art-Capital Biennale in Szentendre, and various galleries in Berlin, Copenhagen, and Italy. In 2007, Betuker received the LVMH (Louis Vuitton & Moët Hennessy) Award for the international competition "In Tribute to Yves Klein." From 2011 to 2015, he was an associate of the Bázis Contemporary Art Platform.
